A functional resin is a material that improves the intrinsic performance of general-purpose resins to a maximum level upon introduction. Functional resins can also provide characteristic functionalities to the texture and other properties of a product, creating added value and resulting in increased customer satisfaction. Nissin’s resins are marketed under three names:

Japan VAM & POVAL Co., Ltd. produces polyvinyl alcohol, water-soluble synthetic resins, under the trade name POVAL. It is utilized as an ingredient in vinylon synthetic fibers, film and acetal resin, fiber processing agents, adhesives, vinyl chloride polymer stabilizers, and inorganic binders.
